Ms. Sreelakshmi S. Kurup is a Research Fellow at CTIL since August 2019. She is a
2017 B.A. LL. B (Hons.) graduate from Jindal Global Law School, NCR Delhi. As an
undergraduate law student, she also worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre
for International Trade and Economic Laws (CITEL) for 3 years. Additionally, during
the penultimate year of her undergraduate education, she worked as a Teaching
Assistant for the course on International Trade Law for her junior batch. In the year
2019, Ms. Sreelakshmi completed her Masters in Law (LL.M) in International Trade
Law from The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Cochin, with a
second rank. Her LL.M dissertation was on the topic ‘Commercialization of Indian
Legal Education: An Evaluation of The Access Aspect Using the GATS Framework.’
Apart from International trade and investment laws, her interest areas include
international criminal law and human rights as well. Therefore, in 2015, she
participated for the Melbourne Summer School programme on ‘International
Criminal Law’ held at Melbourne law school, Australia, and successfully completed it
with an ‘outstanding’ performance. Subsequently, in the year 2016 she took part
and topped the Harvard Summer School course on ‘Human Rights and
Development’, held at Harvard University, at Massachusetts. Very recently in 2021,
she also participated in the [online] Nelson Mandela International Summer School
on Law, Policy and Sustainable Development, organized by the Centre for Human
Rights (Africa) in collaboration with Youth for Asia (India).
Furthermore, Ms. Sreelakshmi holds a One Year Post Graduate Diploma on Cyber
Laws and Cyber Forensics from The National Law School of India University (NLISU),
Bangalore. She has also qualified the All-India Bar Examination and is a lawyer
enrolled at the Delhi State Bar Council since 2017.
