Vatsal Raj graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from National Law
University, Lucknow. Prior to joining CTIL as a Young Professional, Vatsal contributed to
the progressive development of international law as a Legal Assistant to the United Nations
International Law Commission. During his undergraduate studies, he pursued internships
with the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India and the United Nations. Vatsal’s scholarship on
international law and human rights has been published by the University of Oxford and the
University of Cambridge amongst other journals and blogs. He possesses a keen interest in
cross-cutting human rights issues in international trade and investment law. Vatsal engages
with designing sustainable investment strategies for ensuring transformative socio-economic
development and enhancing human rights commitments through international trade
agreements. He also works on crafting innovative international dispute resolution pathways.
